Welcome to CMULI Cultural Exchange Program

“It’s all about giving and receiving, sharing skills, learning from each other in cultural exchanges, sustainability, cool projects and a total win-win situation!”

Giving and Receiving

It’s an old adage that the more you give in life, the more you receive. However, two questions remain; what’s the best way to give, and what is it you’re keen to receive in return? Our exciting Cultural Exchange Program makes answering these questions a whole lot easier. In matching both visitors from abroad and resident expatriates with a wide array of opportunities involving diverse skills, we aim to benefit not only the Thai community, but also make it easy and rewarding for foreigners to discover Thailand’s true but less-travelled roads. The program emphasizes building relationships through cross-cultural exchange, ensuring lively and treasured memories for everyone involved and fostering long-term, sustainable development.

Participating in the program on its flexible schedule, apart from giving you an amazing experience in a unique and beautiful region of Thailand, will enrich your education, expand your horizons, increase your self-confidence, build your resume, act as a recommendation for future employment, and enable you to make an important contribution to the Thai community whilst immersing yourself in a fascinating and ancient culture. It will, most of all, be a lot of fun and an experience you will always remember with love.

Affordability and why pay a fee

Notably, the program is designed to be affordable and therefore accessible to everyone. Set up as non-profit, a modest fee is required from both foreign and resident applicants to help cover administrative costs associated with maintaining an up-to-date network of placement opportunities, as well as providing individualized orientation, counselling, and the securing of the necessary long term non-immigrant ED visa.

Opportunities

So many different skills are needed, and as a result so many people will be able to join with the program - from the obvious English language skills, through health and nutrition expertise, music, art, jewellery design, office skills, writing, caring for animals and veterinary skills, nursing, medical practitioner skills, counselling, skills relevant to working with local NGOs, building, electrical skills - anything you could name. Contact us and we will place you in one of our existing projects or work to find you a placement through Chiang Mai University’s huge network of contacts built up from its excellent reputation as one of the leading Thai universities. Our program’s directors offer support throughout all participants’ time in the program, from arranging the all-important visa through to the end of the agreed term. So, what’s the catch? There isn’t one! The success of our popular TEFL Course has allowed it to provide this much-needed new service to foreigners and locals alike. It’s all about giving and receiving, sharing skills, learning from each other in cultural exchanges, sustainability, cool projects and a total win-win situation! Moreover, it also offers packages for those who want to combine a TEFL degree or a Thai Language and Culture course with a Cultural Exchange experience. So, everybody gives, and everybody receives, with a great deal of fun and friendship included!
